What is Basalt fibre?

Basalt fibre is derived from volcanic rock, a naturally occurring and abundant raw material. The fibres are produced from a single ingredient, effectively creating a thread of stone. Compared to traditional fibroglass production, basalt fibre manufacturing:
  • is chemical-free
  • Requires less energy
  • Hesults in a lower carbon footprint
To further reduce environmental impact, the standard resin used in production is replaced with a bio-resin derived from corn.
